A Mystic in the Mystery is Berg’s first collection of poetry. Rhymed and unrhymed verse weaves the threads of inner consciousness with the outer tapestry of the changing seasons. She reflects philosophically on how one’s core spiritual nature intersects with the physical landscape. Minnesota’s seasonal changes stretch her to look deeper into relationships, expand her spiritual life, and find metaphors for feelings and emotions. Her writing captures the shadows cast by the sun, as well as the shadows that follow sorrow, transition and lost love. She sees the glistening diamonds on a blade of grass, focuses on the fog piercing the early morning river valley, and connects us to our essence: stardust, moonbeams, and beacons of light.
